In the Performance and Racing series, Ergo handles prevent many problems familiar to cyclists, such as numbness in the fingers, sore hands and discomfort in the forearms. The symptoms are caused by hard pressure on the sensitive areas of the palm
and incorrect hand position.
Anatomically designed Ergon handles provide 100% contact with the handle,
while a round handle has only 60% contact surface.
The pressure on the ulnar nerve is significantly less, which helps
prevent hand fatigue.
If the handle is installed correctly, incorrect hand position is impossible. The handle
also prevents strain on the median nerve (carpal tunnel syndrome) and pain in the wrists.
