Vectra Vectran™
™ is a
puncture protection developed and patented by Continental, which:
Is lighter and more flexible and provides more effective protection than similar nylon puncture protection.
Does not reduce the rolling resistance of the tyre.
Is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber based on a natural design.
There is a liquid crystal polymer (LCP), like a spider's web.
Spun from fused Vectra liquid polymer and further processed into multi-stranded yarn.
Like a spider's web, the Vectran™ resists tearing very well, while being lightweight. It is these
properties that make it an excellent material for use in high-end puncture protection
on Continental tires.
DuraSkin®
tyres with DuraSkin® reinforced sidewalls must be able to absorb shocks, as they are used
